Prof. Abdullah R. AlShammery is a prominent leader in dentistry in Saudi Arabia, boasting over 40 years of academic and clinical experience. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Cairo University in 1979 and completed his Master of Science in Restorative Dentistry at the University of Minnesota, USA, in 1984.

At King Saud University, he progressed through various academic ranks, becoming a full Professor in 2001. His roles included Clinical Director (1984-1987), Vice Dean for Academic Affairs (1987-1990), and the first Saudi Dean of the College of Dentistry (1990-1994).

Prof. AlShammery founded the Saudi Dental Society in 1981 and served as its president, contributing to the establishment of the Saudi Dental Journal, where he was Editor-in-Chief for 16 years. He later founded Riyadh Elm University, serving as Dean, Rector, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees.

His leadership extends to the Scientific Dental Board of the Saudi Council for Health Specialties, where he played a pivotal role in establishing the Saudi Board in 1998. Additionally, he founded the IADR – Saudi Arabian Section in 1994 and the Arab Academy for Continuing Dental Education (ARACDE) in 2008.

Currently, he chairs the ICHS International Advisory Board and serves as the scientific chairman of GSDA. Prof. AlShammery is also the chairman of the Prof. Abdullah R. AlShammery Charity Organization.

He has published over 45 articles in national and international dental journals covering various topics, including dental disease prevalence, restorative dentistry, and dental education. With more than 400 presentations at conferences, he has garnered numerous awards and honors for his contributions to the field.
